SCDE will conduct initial school bus driver classroom instruction via Microsoft Teams on the following dates:
  • December 6 - 9
  • December 13 - 16 (evening class, 5:00-9:00 daily)
  • December 20 - 24
  • January 10 - 13
  • January 18 - 21 (evening class, 5:00-9:00 daily)
  • January 24 - 27
  • February 7 - 10
  • February 14 - 17 (evening class, 5:00-9:00 daily)
  • February 22 - 25                                                                                           
Daytime sessions run daily from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Evening sessions run daily from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Participants will enroll through their school district transportation department.

SCDE will offer annual in-service via Microsoft Teams on an as requested basis. Sessions will be scheduled to meet the requesting district's needs but will be open to all districts.

This training covers the required material for all certificates (Type A and Type B). Topics covered include procedures to follow:

  • at railroad crossings
  • in the event of mechanical failure
  • in the event of an accident
  • for bus evacuations

As a reminder, Type A certificate holders will need a minimum of 10 hours of in-service by June 30, 2022. Type B certificate holders will need a minimum of 2 hours.
